On a National Level
There are over 120 studios in the United States, as well as Canada and Australia, with more opening every month. Established by the master of dance himself, Mr. Fred Astaire, in 1947 and based in Longmeadow, Massachusettes, Fred Astaire Dance Studios is an industry leader.

Fred Astaire Trophy System
We offer the Fred Astaire Trophy System as an easy way for you to track your progress while you enjoy dancing! After a handful of beginner lessons, our Social and Advanced Foundation Programs teach new students the step patterns and techniques to move comfortably on the dance floor with any partner. From there, a student can progress through our Bronze and Silver levels - all the way to the Gold!
BRONZE - A confident, master social dancer or beginning competitive dancer
SILVER - An expressive, polished social dancer or advanced competitive dancer
GOLD - An outstanding ballroom dancer; the highest level an amateur dancer can achieve
Nationally Certified Dance Instructors
Hailing from around the world, our teachers are actively competing, award-winning professionals and gifted educators. Many of our teachers have degrees in the fine arts and all have passed rigorous certification exams given by the National Dance Council and/or the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance.
Fred Astaire Dance Curriculum
Our curriculum covers the full range of American, Latin-American, International Style, and Exhibition/Theatre Arts dances. World famous dance champions and registered judges on the Fred Astaire National Dance Board constantly study and review our curriculum to make sure that only the finest, up-to-date programs are being offered to our students.
On a State Level
Fred Astaire Dance Studios have been a strong presence in Minnesota for over 30 years. There are three studios in Minnesota with more planned in the future.
On a Local Level
A downtown icon for 15 years where passersby were entertained through the picture window by the daily dancing, the studio has recently relocated to Highway 52 and Elton Hills Dr./19th St., on the west frontage road next to Schmitt music. We're very excited to have two ballrooms now and as a result can offer a variety of new group classes for youth and adults as well as an exciting new Dance Rhythms exercise class!
